JASON

Well it has finally come down to 13 days left of this summer mess till I get to see my husband again! It has been a long 8 1/2 weeks and now we are down to 2 weeks left! Jason took this picture of him self and sent it to me. I am not sure if anyone else got it but I love seeing him in his uniform. I have other pictures of him but can't get them on the computer without a scanner so sorry about the lack of pictures.
Update: Jason is doing super great and loving it out there at basic. He hates the heat and the humidity but said he has not died from it yet and could live through anything now! He misses Jonathan and wishes he could be here to feel natali swimming around. But he will get to do that here soon. They are finally in the blue phase which is the last of the 3 phases and that means the drill Sargents are a little bit nicer to them. they were told that the last week they are out there they get to keep their cell phones for good and he can text or call me whenever they have free time. I was able to talk to Jason both Saturday and Sunday both for an hour long and it was so good to be able to hear his voice. I miss him so much and I miss the little talks we had right before we fell asleep. Jason was told that he could get us a place to live after he gets down to California and then he gets to move in two weeks after we move down. I am so excited that I will be able to have my husband back. I received a letter from Jason's branch president of the church out there in Missouri last week. It was a nice letter talking about how grateful they were for me letting my husband serve our country and for our freedom. It was a nice letter and they gave me their phone number in case I need to get a hold of Jason for any reason. I am grateful Jason has good people watching over him and I know for sure our Heavenly Father is out there watching over him as well. this is not an easy thing and it is for sure a hard trial in our lives but we will make it through and have so far. Please keep Jason in your prayers no matter where this adventure takes us we will need all the help we can get. Thanks for all the support and the love from everyone. We love all of you, Nicole

Trip to Alaska

Jonathan and I went to alaska to see Gramma and papa Den Boer. It was a fun but fast 3 weeks. We drove up to Alaska with gramma and had a fun time driving up but that last day we just wanted to be there. here are some pictures of some of the things we did while we were there. We went to the beach and played in the sand...

Learned how to walk....
Drove the 4 wheelers....
On the road we saw the sign forest...
Played with gramma
Saw bears...
Played with himself in the mirror....
And drove 5 days to get there....

We had fun and it was sad to go but we needed to visit other family and then in 3 weeks we get to see daddy! We are so excited and hope these next 3 weeks go so fast.

latest

Well its been 6 weeks since I last saw my husband. I thought I would update everyone and let you know how things are going. I get to talk to Jason every Saturday and sometimes on Sunday as well. I get letters from him at least 2 times a week and this helps me make it by. Jason is doing good out there in Missouri. He says it is super hot and humid and they change clothes 2 times a day. we have 4 more weeks till graduation and he is so excited. He gets so sad somedays thinking about me and Jonathan and he wishes he could go outside and play with his son. Jonathan is loving trucks and cars now and plays with them all the time. Jason can't wait to be able to play trucks with him. Jason has been shooting guns and throwing hand granaids and he is loving it. His favorite is the machine guns! He is a big kid at heart! He said every other day they go on a march with their packs which weigh 20 lbs. Every time the go a little farther. I think the other day they marched 20 miles and he said his shoulders were so numb by the time they were done. I feel bad for him... some of the things he goes through.
Jonathan and I have been in Alaska for 2 and a half week now and Jonathan is loving it up here. Papa Den Boer takes him outside and he just plays with his trucks. You ask him where is trucks are and he will go find them for you. Jonathan finally started to walk officially last week and he is loving it and walking everywhere now. Jason wants Jonathan to walk up to him when we see him in 4 weeks. He is so excited! On Sunday night we head out on the airplane and going to Washington for our last 3 weeks of our adventure. Then off to Missouri and then off to California with Jason. I am so excited and I am so glad that the time has been going fast. I don't know what I would have done if it weren't for my family members. love you all!
