at the beach!

we had a day at the beach. we played in the water and built sand houses and then destroyed them and flew our kite. it was a fun day!

driving crazy!

Isn't He just so cute! I love this kid! I bought him this car last summer for 1.50 at a yard sale and its one of his favorites. He drives it around EVERYWHERE!

riding bikes!

2 weekends ago we decided to take a bike ride. We went from our house out to Ord dunes park. It was about 5 miles out there and then 5 miles back. It was fun but if you know the Ord area you know that there are hills everywhere and they are steep hills. I thought I was going to die on a few hills we took especially the one next to my house. But we had fun. we went through the old barracks area and on down to the ocean. The first picture is of the dunes next to the ocean. This was the shooting range. They would line up and then shoot at the dunes. The army also planted the ice plants on the dunes to try and stop the sand from blowing!

These are some of the old barracks. This half of Ord is covered with them. Its so cool to look at and picture how life was back then when this place was hopping!

This is Jason riding his bike near the train docks... and sticking his tongue out at me.

There are the kids enjoying their ride... lucky ducks!

4th of July Party

We had so much fun for the 4th. We had a bbq at our house with the halls and they brought fireworks. Jonathan was scared of the sparklers at first but we put one in his hand and then lit it and he was loving it. He wanted more! Then Danny pulled out another firework that looked like a truck! first thing Jonathan said when he saw it.... "WOOOOAAA" It was so cute! It was the coolest thing he has ever seen!

Cleaning the car

Jason wanted to clean our car and Jonathan wanted to help. It was just so cute! He is such a big helper.

Hiking to Sempervirens falls

We took a hike up to sempervirens falls near our camp. It was like a 2 mile hike. It was fun but nat was hurting my back. It took us 2 hours to go up and a half hour to come back down. it was so fun though and I am glad we did it.

Camping in the redwoods

Camping in the redwoods... who knew that they were only an hour away? Jason got 2 free days off because he had done some training back in May that took him and a couple other guys in the company away for a couple days. so we chose to take the last Monday and Tuesday of June off. We wanted to go camping so bad so we decided to gather all our camping stuff and head off to the redwoods. We get to check that one off our bucket list of things to do in California before we leave. We had so much fun out there. We set up our new tent that we got for Christmas and Jason started a fire. it was so nice to just get out and relax. I love the redwoods. they are a peculiar tree. the plaque said some of these trees are 2000 years old. That is so crazy! Jason and I kept saying I wish I could touch that tree and see what its been through... see its past. I love nature and its beauties. I love what our Heavenly Father has given us so we can enjoy them.
